Reggie Pierre-Jerome

  • Title
    Goalkeeper Coach

Widely considered the top goalkeeper trainer in the state of Florida, Reggie Pierre-Jerome serves as NSU women's soccer's goalkeeper coach.

Pierre-Jerome played an integral role in the success of freshman goalkeeper Natalie Robayna during the 2018 season. After sitting out the first six matches, Robayna turned in one of the more productive campaigns throughout the Sunshine State Conference, compiling an 8-4-1 record en route to NSU's fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. Robayna's four shutouts ranked third in the league, while her efforts also earned her a pair of SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

In 2017, Pierre-Jerome assisted in the development of keeper Jordan Lentz, who posted a career-best season as a senior. Lentz tied for third in the SSC with 80 saves and finished the year with a notable 10 wins. Of those wins, Lentz played a part in three shutouts, earning a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory over Tampa that secured the program's first-ever, outright SSC regular season title.

Pierre-Jerome had a lot to be proud of following the 2016 season after the Sharks allowed only 15 goals in 17 matches. Of those 15, only two were surrendered at home, while all SSC opponents were held scoreless in games held at the NSU Soccer Complex.

Pierre-Jerome also guided freshman Ida Norstrom to NSCAA First Team All-South Region honors and a First Team All-SSC selection.

Pierre-Jerome has extensive experience at all levels of the game. He has played professionally both in the U.S. and abroad. On home soil, he has played in the MLS with the Miami Fusion, as well as with the Charleston Battery, Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Miami Breakers of the USL.

He was also a first round draft pick of the Dallas Sidekicks of the Indoor League. Internationally, Pierre-Jerome was a member of the Under-23 Haitian National team that participated in the 1991 Pan American Games, and played in qualifying games with the Haitian National Team for the 1991 Barcelona Olympics and the ‘94 World Cup. He has also trained with the U.S. National Team, Alianza Lima of the Peruvian first division and for Paris FC in France

Collegiately, Pierre-Jerome played at Coastal Carolina University, where he was a three-year starter. While at Coastal Carolina, he was selected Big South Conference Goalkeeper of the Year after helping the Chanticleers to a Top-20 national ranking in 1990. That season, he led the NCAA Division I South Region with a 0.87 goals-against average.

Pierre-Jerome's coaching experience is varied and extensive. He has been the goalkeeper trainer for the Haitian Men’s National Team, and has also assisted the programs at Coastal Carolina, FIU, and Barry University.

Pierre-Jerome works full time as the Assistant Principal at Crystal Lake Middle School, and is also on staff at the Plantation Eagles Soccer Club, where he directs the goalkeeping development of the club. He holds a BS and M.Ed. in education and NSCAA national goalkeeping license. Pierre-Jerome is married to his wife Joan and has two children, daughter Milan and son Sebastian.
