Austin Warner

Austin Warner joined the NSU cross country and track and field staff in the fall of 2013. He served as a graduate assistant until being named assistant coach for the men’s/women’s cross country/track and field programs on Nov. 3, 2014. 

Throughout his time at NSU, he has assisted both the men’s and women’s cross country programs to the NCAA National Championships as well as two individual qualifiers. In cross country, Warner has guided 15 student-athletes to NCAA All-South Region honors by placing in the Top 25 at the NCAA Division 2 South Regional Championships. In fall 2015, the men’s and women’s cross country teams showed success in the classroom by achieving USTFCCAA All-Academic Team Awards for achieving an overall team GPA over 3.15

On the track, 18 middle distance and distance student-athletes have been named to the USTFCCCA All-South Region as well as every institutional record from 800m-10,000m has been broken for both the men and women in the past three seasons.

Prior to NSU, Warner served as an assistant for the men’s and women’s cross country programs at Hawaii Pacific University in 2012, where HPU hosted both the Pac West XC Championships and the NCAA Division II West Regional Cross Country Championships.

Originally from Dyer, Ind., Warner earned his Bachelor's degree from Trinity Christian College. Warner is a three-time NAIA national qualifier in cross country and a four-time national qualifier on the track.

He served as the team captain his junior and senior seasons and holds five school records at Trinity while holding personal bests of 14:53 in the 5000m and 31:59 in the 10000m events.

Warner is USATF Level 1 certified and holds a master's in education with a specialization in athletic administration.
