Stephanie Sarosi has been named the Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending February 27.
Sarosi (Mims, Fla.) closed out the regular-season by averaging 24.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 5.0 blocks, 2.0 assists, and 0.5 steals as the Sharks went 1-1. In an 84-73 win over Lynn, Sarosi tallied a season-high 29 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and a steal.
In a 77-67 loss to Florida Southern, Sarosi posted 19 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks, and one assist. In two games, she shot 60 percent (21-of-35) from the field and 67 percent (6-of-9) at the free throw line.
This week’s honor is Sarosi’s 11th SSC Player of the Week honor in her career and fourth this season.
The Sharks will travel to Melbourne, Fla. to battle Florida Tech on Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
