TURLOCK, Calif. – The Nova Southeastern University track & field team concluded its second day of competition at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship on May 27, competing in only one event.
The last event for the Sharks before moving on to day-three’s finals was the 4x400-meter relay which got underway at 11:20 PM ET.
The powerful nationally ranked No. 2 Sharks’ relay team of
Rashida Allen (Sr., Montego Bay, Jamaica),
Tiffany Richardson (So., Ocala, Fla.),
Keisha Etienne (Sr., North Miami, Fla.) and
Jessica Osteen (So., Las Vegas, Nev.) advanced to the finals finishing sixth in their preliminary race with a time of 3:47.10.
With the recent addition of the 4x400-meter relay team the Sharks will now compete in four final events Saturday, May 28, marking the most national final events in program history.
With the Sharks previous two-day success, Saturday’s events and participants will commence as follows: The No. 4 4x100-meter relay team of Allen,
Roberta Fisher (Jr., Orlando, Fla.), Richardson and
Thelmarcia Williams (Jr., West Palm Beach, Fla.) will be looking to make program history in their final event which starts at 8:40 PM ET.
No. 10 Etienne after breaking the school record day-one, earned her spot in the finals competing at 10:50 PM ET in the 400-meter hurdles.
Carlyle Thompson (Sr., Nassau, Bahamas) making his second consecutive national final appearance will compete at 11:00 PM ET also in the 400-meter hurdles.
Last but certainly not least the No. 2 4x400-meter relay team of Allen, Richardson, Etienne and Osteen will also be looking to carve their place in school history as national champions when they hit the track after midnight eastern time at 12:25 AM.
