FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Nova Southeastern University alumnus Mike Fiers made his major league debut last night against the the Colorado Rockies and pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
Fiers came out in the ninth with Colorado leading 6-2. Fiers earned his first career out by picking off Eric Young at first base. Prince Fielder made the tag on Fiers' first major league play, making the all-star first baseman
linked to the first play of both Sharks in the major leagues. He would finish the inning with back to back strikeouts against all-star Carlos Gonzalez and Mark Ellis.
