PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University baseball team took time away from the field to participate in the local Miracle League Program on Friday, Oct. 12th.
The Miracle League program of Pembroke Pines was established for disabled children, in order to give them the opportunity to play baseball and experience what it’s like to be on a team. The organization looks for local baseball players to volunteer time to buddy with a player in order to aid and encourage them throughout the entire game.
They are supported by the Joe Dimaggio Children’s Hospital, which allows the kids to be outfitted and play for free. The organization is funded by donations, which has provided these children with a complete complex where they host weekly games every Friday night.
"I feel honored to have continued the tradition of the relationship with NSU Baseball and the West Pembroke Pines Optimist Miracle League,” said head coach
Greg Brown. “Through all the moments of every passing season, Shark Night at The Miracle League is always my favorite. To see the interactions between our student-athletes and those amazing boys and girls gives us all a feeling that cannot be derived from athletic achievement or an inspirational speech. I always find myself leaving there and wondering who is really helping who. Those kids are the real all-stars and I look forward till the next time we get to give back to that great organization."

Shane Hill's younger brother Cameron, is a beloved member of the Miracle League. Through the experience of Miracle league it has given a chance for the brothers to share their passion and do something they both love together.
“The Miracle league was an amazing experience for my family and I.” said Hill. “ The support shown by my teammates for my little brother Cameron was monumental for me, and truly signifies the family we have built as a team here at NSU.The Miracle league is such an awesome event, because it allows children of all ages who have special needs to come out and show off their abilities rather than their disabilities.”
The Sharks will be participating in the
