FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern had four student-athletes inducted into the Alpha Chi Honors Society. The four inductees were:
Devan Martin (women’s swimming and diving),
Danielle Robinson (women’s basketball) ,
Haley McKissack (women’s rowing), and
Rebecca Urrutia (women’s track and field).
Alpha Chi is a co-educational academic honor society with more than 289 chapters in the United States. It is the longest standing academic honor society on campus, promoting and honoring academic excellence and exemplary character among all undergraduate majors. Invitations are extended to less than three percent of all undergraduate students, who must meet strict academic and enrollment criteria to qualify for this honor.
To qualify for Alpha Chi, students must be currently enrolled juniors or seniors, complete a minimum of 24 credits at NSU and are in the top-10 percent of their major. Students who qualify for Alpha Chi are invited to an induction ceremony to recognize their outstanding academic achievement. Students received a certificate of membership and lapel pin.
“This is a huge honor and we are very proud of Devan, Haley, Danielle and Rebecca for balancing an outstanding academic and athletic career,” said Associate Director of Athletics
Kelly Kish. “Thank you for your support of these four Sharks that truly define “student-athlete.”
