COLUMBUS, Ga. – Lesa Boneé, the head coach of the Nova Southeastern softball team, reached the 500th career win plateau Saturday, Feb. 25, as the Sharks downed Young Harris, 6-3, at the Cougar Classic hosted by Columbus State.
Boneé, now in her 10th season as the leader of the NSU softball program, has amassed 318 victories as a Shark. She has had 31 all-conference, 14 all-region and five All-America student-athletes as a head coach. She has led two Sharks teams to NCAA Regional appearances.
Boneé has also been the head coach at University of Missouri-St. Louis and Southern Wesleyan before taking over at NSU in 2003.
NSU is 12-10 this season, and has doubleheaders against Columbus State on Monday and Mercyhurst Wednesday before SSC play begins March 2 at home against Florida Tech.
