44 Named D-II ADA Academic Achievement Award Winners

Student-Athletes recognized across 16 teams at NSU.

CLEVELAND – Nova Southeastern has placed 44 student-athletes on the Division-II Athletics Directors Association Award list for the 2011-12 academic year.

Winners from NSU stretched across 16 of the program’s 17 athletic teams, with men’s and women’s swimming and diving tying for the school-best total of five honorees each.

In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director of the D-II institution must be a current dues paying member of the D-II ADA. Also, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.

A record number of institutions (118) and student-athletes (4,492) are being recognized for the 2011-12 Academic Achievement Awards. Seven of the nine Sunshine State Conference institutions had student-athletes honored by the D-II ADA.
