FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s basketball team participated in NSU’s 10th annual Day for
Children, on Sunday, Sept. 23.
“Our coaching staff and players were happy to lend a hand at our campus event, A Day for Children,” said women’s basketball head coach LeAnn Freeland. “I cannot think of a better way for NSU to give back to the area than to provide free health screenings and educational materials to the children of Broward and Dade counties.”
On this day, thousands of kids and parents from the Davie community walked through the Alvin Sherman Library to receive free health exams.
Miami Heat star James Jones showed up to the event to sign autographs and encourage the kids by telling them how important it is to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle.
