DAVIE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern baseball team took time away from the season to participate in the second annual Baseball Coaches and Players Clinic Saturday, Jan. 26.
The clinic, held at Bamford Park in Davie, Fla,. was aimed at both players and coaches from the Davie Little League Travel Program. Topics of discussion included practice plans, time management, hitting, pitching, infield and outfield play and catching.
The NSU coaching staff, along with 20 student-athletes, put on the free clinic to benefit the development of young ball players and the youth league coaches by teaching drills and working on their individual skills.
"The relationship with the Davie youth baseball league is very special to our program and I am proud of the clinic that our players and coaches put on,” said
Greg Brown “They are a group of special people that volunteer their time to the youth in our community and we are proud to give back."
The clinic was an opportunity for young players to learn more about the sport of baseball. It also gave the coaches the opportunity to observe and learn from various coaching styles.
The clinic was a great success and the NSU players and staff look to continue their relationship with the Davie youth baseball league for years to come.
