Collymore to Attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum

Takes place in Indianapolis June 8-11.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University swimmer Kimba Collymore (Sr., St. James, Trinidad) has been invited to attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis, taking place June 8-11. Associate Athletic Director Kelley Kish will join Collymore, serving as the facilitator for the forum.

The student-athletes who were selected for the Career in Sports Forum were chosen by a committee made up of administrators from member institutions, conference offices and affiliate member organizations. Also included are the 2013-14 Ethnic Minority & Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship recipients.

In Indianapolis, the NCAA will provide education on career development and potential career opportunities for nearly 300 student-athletes from Divisions I, II and III. The forum will focus on assisting student-athletes with making a successful transition from competition to their future professions in intercollegiate athletics, and brings career leaders together to discuss their professional career paths as well as to enlighten student-athletes on career choices and future decisions they'll need to consider.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to lean and interact with pioneers in the athletic arena," said Collymore.

"Kimba will have the chance to really evaluate her values and behavioral style while enhancing her development and growth at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum," added Kish. "The topics, knowledge and networking opportunities for Kimba paired with her Nova Southeastern University degree will provide limitless options when she enters the world of working in athletics after graduation. All of the student-athlete participants, coaches and administrators that interact with her will benefit from her selection for the forum. NSU is fortunate to have Kimba serving as an ambassador for us during this prestigious forum with national exposure."

Kish also expressed her gratitude for being selected as one of the forum's facilitators.

"I am honored and excited to serve as a facilitator at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum," said Kish. "The opportunity to serve beyond our campus and impact student-athletes within the entire membership of the NCAA will be a rewarding experience. The time will allow me to grow personally and professionally and learn from fellow administrators, coaches and the student-athlete participants. I will be able to expose all involved to what a great thing we have at Nova Southeastern University as well as bring ideas and knowledge back to help Shark Athletics advance as a model Division II program."
