The Sharks are just one of 92 teams to earn the award.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's track and field team was named as one of the 2013 Division II All-Academic Track and Field teams as announced by U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Along with the team honor, four women's track and field athletes were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team.

"I'm really excited that we had so many athletes to make the All-Academic Team," said head coach Bryan Hagopian. This really shows that our athletes are not only commited to their sport, but to the classroom as well."

A total of 384 women from 92 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for their combined efforts in competition and in the classroom. The 92 team honors were awarded as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher. NSU finished with a team GPA of 3.2.

The four Sharks who earned the individual honor are Quannisha Allen (Fr., St. Augustine, Fla.), Peri Bowman (Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.), Monica Sapp (Fr., Miami, Fla.) and Johniqua Stafford (Sr., Fort Worth, Texas). To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either indoor or outdoor seasons.
