BARCELONA – Nova Southeastern swimmer
Esau Simpson (Sr., St. David's, Grenada) represented his native Grenada at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
Simpson, competing for his country at the global scale for the second straight summer, swam in the 100m freestyle race. In the third heat of the event, Simpson finished with a time of 53.66. He finished 64th overall among the 90 participants. That time was just short of the national record, which he currently owns.
Simpson, who traveled with head coach
Hollie Bonewit-Cron to Barcelona, also competed in Europe last year at the 2012 London Olympics. Simpson is the first swimmer from Grenada to compete at this level. He will return next year as part of the largest senior class in program history.
