SSC schools make up the top four vote-getters in men’s, top five in women’s

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men's and women's golf team are each ranked second in their respective Golf World/Nike Golf preseason NCAA Division II coaches' poll.

The men's squad only trails defending champion and Sunshine State Conference rival Barry, who earned nine first-place votes and 343 total points. NSU was next with five first-place votes and 334 points, followed by two more SSC schools: Lynn (301) and Florida Southern (290). Taking fifth place was CSU-Monterey Bay.

"I'm very excited about this upcoming year," said men's head coach Ryan Jamison. "I think we have a great group of guys in place to be able to compete week in and week out. All members of our program have created a great vision for our team and we look forward to working towards our ultimate goal of winning a national championship."

On the women's side, it is another SSC squad and also the defending national champions, Lynn, who take the top spot, with 16 first-place votes and 615 total points. The Shark women are second with seven first-place nods and 592 points. The rest of the top five are all SSC squads: Rollins (one first-place, 541), Barry (one first-place, 537) and Florida Southern (499).

"We are looking forward to another outstanding season like the past year," said women's head coach Amanda Brown. "I'm very confident in the group of girls we have, and we are excited to start competing in a few weeks."
