NSU to Host Welcome Back to Campus Night Wednesday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Nova Southeastern University is inviting all NSU students, faculty and staff to attend Wednesday's "Welcome Back to Campus" doubleheader, in which the Sharks will take on South Florida rival Barry beginning at 5:30 p.m. Free food and prizes will be on hand for all fans in attendance.

Aside from supporting NSU men's and women's basketball in two crucial Sunshine State Conference games, fans in attendance will also be able to give back to their community. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which will be holding their traditional Shark Night Wednesday, has teamed up with the Caribbean Student Association to run a clothing drive for those in need. Fans are encouraged to bring donated clothing items to the University Center, where both organizations will be collecting at a table just outside the box office.

The action will start at 4:30 p.m. with a tailgate party in the University Center pit. Radio X will on hand and free food will be available for all fans coming through. NSU will have basketball hoops set up, with fans getting the chance to shoot for prizes.

During the games, fans will have several opportunities to win prizes during contests such as Holler for a Dollar, the Geico Hump Day Contest and halftime Musical Chairs with Razor. If enough fans tweet with the hashtag #GoNSUSharks, the athletic department will drop Hump Day T-shirts from the rafters. Prizes will include giveaways from Moe's Southwest Grill, Geico, Best Buy, Duffy's Sports Grill in Plantation and Barnes & Nobles.

The Undergraduate Student Association is also supporting the event by offering free admission to incoming or potential NSU students. All fans, current Sharks or potential Sharks entering the gate, will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with Razor.

In conjunction with NSU's core values, the special guest groups for Wednesday's doubleheader are the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County and Special Olympics Broward County. Finally, SAAC will be taking donations and selling #SharksNation T-shirts, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
