MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's basketball team was chosen second in the 2014-15 Sunshine State Conference Preseason Coaches' poll, released by the league office on Thursday.
The Sharks were one vote below Tampa, 60-59, with each team receiving four first-place votes. Rollins also received a top vote, and is third at 52. Florida Tech and Barry rounded out the top five.
Five newcomers, two redshirts and six returning letterwinners will make up the 2014-15 Sharks' roster. A 4 p.m. exhibition against the University of Miami in Coral Gables on Nov. 6 will be the lone preseason game for the team, prior to a jointly-hosted event with NSU and Barry pairing off against Alabama-Huntsville and Shorter. The NSU-UAH game to tip off the regular season will be on the Sharks' home floor on Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. The tilt with Shorter will be the next day in Miami Shores at 6.
