FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Erika Garcia (Sr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) was named to the Daktronics All-South Region First Team, as announced Monday morning. Garcia earns her third postseason award after collecting the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and All-SSC First Team utility player.
 
At the plate, Garcia finished in the top 15 in the region hitting for a .378 batting average and slugging percentage of .635. Garcia also finished tied for fourth in the region with 16 doubles. In the circle, Garcia finished seventh in the region tossing an impressive 2.11 ERA. Garcia led the Sharks in 12 offensive categories and five pitching categories.
 
This marks Garcia's second year in a row as an All-South Region selection as she was named to the NFCA Division II All-South Region team in 2013. Garcia becomes the team's fifth Daktronics All-South Region First Team member in the past eight years joining Laura Saladrigas in 2011, Lauren Lopez and Jessica Hernandez in 2010, and Katie Veltri in 2007.
