FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University cross country and track and field teams placed five student-athletes on the Capital One Academic All-District Teams, as announced Thursday.
The men's teams were represented by senior
Timo Kilp (Tallinn, Estonia), while the women led all South Region teams with four honorees. Kilp finished his career with a GPA of 3.77 in his business administration program. Kilp, along with the rest of the honorees, are now eligible for Academic All-American honors.
Peri Bowman (Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.), NSU's 2013-14 Scholar Athlete of the Year, earned the honor with a 3.94 GPA in the marine biology program.
Rebecca Urrutia (Jr., Coral Springs, Fla.) followed with a 3.92 GPA in biology. Fellow pole vaulter
Brittany Todaro (Jr., Plantation, Fla.) was also honored with a 3.89 GPA in athletic training. The group was wrapped up by
Aimee Sims (Jr., St. Anne, Ill.), who was selected with a 3.84 GPA in biology.
