FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern University Department of Athletics will host its fourth annual "A Night in Roma" event benefitting the Tony Segreto Athletic Scholarship Fund on Tuesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. in the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center.
The event replicates New York City's Mulberry Street with restaurant booths, live musical entertainment, along with multiple bocce ball courts, a selection of raffle baskets, and high-end auction items. Showcasing a variety of Italian flare, Anthony's Runway 84 and Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza generously cater the event along with assorted Italian desserts from Mimi's Ravioli, fresh breads from Cusano's, gourmet espresso and cappuccinos from Café Ala Carte, as well as a selection of Italian beer and wines.
Tony Segreto, former NBC6 news anchor and current NSU Board of Trustee and chair of the Athletic Advisory Council, continues to be an integral part of the South Florida community. Following his retirement in 2009, Segreto established a scholarship fund in his name to support student-athletes who otherwise might not have had the opportunity for a quality education. This year's event will award the third recipient of the scholarship.
"Tony is great supporter and ambassador of our athletic program and our university," said NSU Director of Athletics
