Men's Golf Has Five Named All-American by PING

Gomez named to Second Team; Four Sharks chosen Honorable Mention

PING All-American Release

NORMAN, Okla. –
Nova Southeastern men's golfer Santiago Gomez was named Second Team, while four of his teammates garnered Honorable Mention nods, as the remainder of the Division II PING All-American Teams were announced on Tuesday.

Gomez (So., Armenia, Colombia) earns the second All-American honor of his career, as he was previously named Third Team by PING as a freshman while at Midwestern State. Seniors Ricardo Celia (Barranquilla, Colombia) and Mitch Farrer (West Sussex, England) capped off their NSU careers with Honorable Mention honors, joined by Oscar Lengdèn (Jr., Helsingborg, Sweden) and Hunter O'Mahony (So., Jupiter, Fla.).

For Celia, it is the third consecutive season in which he has been named All-American by PING. Last season he was first team, while after his sophomore year in 2012, he was named third team. It's O'Mahony's second honor in as many years as he was second team a year ago, and Lengdèn also receives his second honor, as he was second team in 2012. Farrer received his first All-American honor on Tuesday.

Gomez, Lengdèn and O'Mahony will return from this year's National Runner-Up squad, joining three other returnees and four newcomers for the 2014-15 season.
