FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Beginning this Thursday and Friday, both the Nova Southeastern University men's and women's basketball teams will begin play in the 2015 Sunshine State Conference Basketball Championship, to be held at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
 
The women's portion of the bracket begins with the quarterfinal round on Thursday, March 5. The men's quarters begin the following day, with each sides' semifinal games on Saturday and the respective championship games on Sunday. Each Shark squad has qualified for the tournament, to determine the SSC's automatic qualifier for the subsequent NCAA South Regional.

The women clinched the No. 1 overall seed on their side with five victories to end the year, winning the SSC regular season championship by a game over Rollins. As the top seed, they will have a rematch against their final opponent of the regular season, Saint Leo. The 21-5 Sharks and 9-17 Lions open up the tournament slate this Thursday, March 5, at noon.

The men, conversely, will have the very last quarterfinal matchup of the championship, as the No. 6 seed, taking on Tampa Friday night at 7:30 p.m. It will be the third time the team has taken on the No. 3-seeded Spartans (18-9), and the Sharks (11-15) are looking to go 3-0 in those matchups to move on to Friday's semifinal round.
 
The neutral site tournament, at the Silver Spurs Arena for the third consecutive year, features tickets for as low as $10 for general admission and court-level seating. Children under six are free. Here is more information on the upcoming Championships:
