GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The No. 6 Nova Southeastern University rowing team won the Varsity-8 Petite Final Sunday to finish fifth at the 2015 NCAA National Championship at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center.
The Sharks topped No. 5 Philadelphia with a time of 7:25.05. NSU won by over seven seconds, with Philadelphia cross the finish line at 7:32.45.
The Sharks led from start to finish, slowly building a lead throughout. NSU led by four seats after the first 500m and a full boat length by the 1,000m mark. From there, NSU created open water distance and never looked back.

After the petite final, No. 1 Barry claimed the NCAA National Championship, with No. 3 Mercyhurst taking second place overall.
