FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University athletic department has placed 89 student-athletes on the Spring Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
In addition, 14 Sharks were recognized by the conference for obtaining a 4.0 GPA during the spring semester:

"Sunshine State Conference student-athletes are among the best in the country athletically, academically and in their communities," stated Commissioner Pasque. "Today's announcement of 1,023 student-athletes on the Commissioner's Honor Roll is further evidence of this fact."
To be eligible for the Spring SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. Participants in the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, women's rowing, baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse were eligible for the spring honor roll.
In all, 1,023 student-athletes were named to the SSC Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll for 2015, announced Monday, June 29 by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 149 student-athletes carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the semester.
This spring's honor roll numbers break the previous records of 958 student-athletes honored and 134 with perfect grade-point averages set in 2014. At 144, baseball yielded the most honorees for the spring. Women's swimming was the top spot for 4.00's with 19 student-athletes achieving perfection.

Having won 94 Division II National Championships, the SSC's student-athletes have proven to be successful in the classroom. For the fifth consecutive year the SSC boasts an Academic Success Rate of 86 percent, a mark that ranks second among all NCAA Division II conferences.
