2016 Softball ScheduleFORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University softball has released its 2016 schedule, which will begin with a road trip to Clearwater, Fla. for the Eckerd College Tournament on Feb. 5-7.
The Sharks will see more action on the road this season with 22 away games and only 14 at home. Newly named head coach
Julie LeMaire will look to improve on the team's 20-win 2015 season.
Following the Eckerd College Tournament, the team will make the short trip north to West Palm Beach to face Armstrong State, Washburn and Georgia Southwestern in the Palm Beach Atlantic Tournament on Feb. 13-14.
NSU will host a doubleheader against Kentucky State to open play at the A.D. Griffin Sports Complex on Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. Two days later, the Sharks enter Sunshine State Conference play as they host Barry on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. and a doubleheader on Feb. 20 beginning at 1 p.m.
The team continues conference action for the remainder of the month and into March as they will play at St. Leo on Feb. 26-27 and host Tampa on March 4-5 and West Liberty on March 6.
The remainder of March features a tough slate of opponents as the Sharks participate in the Spring Games Tournament in Clermont, Fla. and finish the month with conference matchups against Eckerd in St. Petersburg, Fla. on March 18-19 and Florida Tech at home on March 24-25.
The remainder of the season will be challenging as the team faces conference foes Rollins, Florida Southern and Lynn, all between April 1-23.
NSU will complete the regular season at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Fla. on April 29 at 6 p.m. followed by a doubleheader against the Eagles on April 30 at 1 p.m.
The NCAA South Regional will take place on May 5-8 followed by the NCAA Super Regional on May 13-14. The NCAA Division II Championship will take place May 17-21 in Denver, Colo.
