Baseball Releases 2016 Schedule

Sharks will look to defend their Sunshine State Conference title and get back into the South Region tournament.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University baseball team has released its 2015 schedule and will open up at home on January 29th against Tusculum.
 
After taking on Tusculum on Friday night, the Sharks will host Newberry and Catawba on Saturday, January 30th, and Sunday, January 31st, respectively. Catawba was defeated by Tampa in the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship game.
 
The first road trip of the year will take place the following weekend when the NSU ball club will travel to Huntsville, Ala. to take on the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in what likely be one of the biggest series' of the year for both teams. The Chargers lingered near the top of the South Region poll in 2015 before being swept by West Alabama late in the year and losing two of three games in the Gulf South Conference Tournament. The four-game series will take place on February 5th and 6th, featuring a doubleheader each day.
 
Following the series with Alabama-Huntsville, the Sharks will host Colorado Christian in a mid-week tilt on February 10th. NSU will then take the weekend off and return to action the following week at St. Thomas on the 16th of February. Tuskegee will follow, coming to town for a three-game tilt on February 19th and 20th. The Sharks will then head north on I-95 to take on the Flagler Saints in a weekend series, followed by an eight-game home-stand featuring series' against Eckerd and Lynn and two mid-week games against American International and Southern New Hampshire.
 
On March 18th, the Sharks will travel to Tampa for a three-game series against the Spartans, followed by a mid-week game against Southern Connecticut on March 21st at the NSU Baseball Complex. The Sharks close the month of March with a three-game series against Saint Leo on 24th and 25th, followed by a mid-week matchup with the ever-so familiar Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on the 29th.
 
The month of April opens with two straight weekend-series' on the road against Barry and Palm Beach Atlantic. Head coach Greg Brown's ball-club will then return home for a seven game home-stand beginning with a three-game series with Rollins, ending with a three-game tilt against Embry-Riddle and featuring a mid-week game against Palm Beach Atlantic in between each series.
 
The Sharks close out the regular season on the road with back-to-back series' against the Florida Southern Mocs and the Florida Tech Panthers, in what could have major regional ramifications on the line.
