FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Following a runner-up finish out west at California State-Monterey Bay's Otter Invitational, Nova Southeastern's
Richard Mansell has been named the Sunshine State Conference's Men's Golfer of the Week, announced Monday.
Lifted by the play of Mansell, the NSU men's golf team claimed a strong third place finish at the annual event last Tuesday. Comprised of 16 teams and 85 individual players, the senior helped keep the Sharks in the lead for the first two rounds of the tournament and led by three strokes heading into the final 18 holes. Mansell consistently shot under par in each of the three rounds and ended up capturing a second-place finish with a three-round score of 210 (-6), just two strokes behind individual medalist Chris Crisologo from Simon Fraser who finished at 8-under par.
