Malin Westman captured both Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week honors, announced by the league office this afternoon.
Aldabe helped lead the NSU men's swim team to a convincing 161-127 win against Indian River on Friday, marking the second straight win for the Sharks over the Patriots in as many weeks. In the process, Aldabe picked up three individual victories by winning the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:51.54, the men's 400-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.14. Along the way, Westman collected a pair of wins in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events, setting provisional qualifying times in both. In the 100, she finished with a qualifying time of 1:04.24 and then followed with a convincing qualifying time in the 200 at 2:17.91, beating the rest of the field by nearly 10 whole seconds.
