Christen Prasse has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
The junior averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists as the Sharks improved to a conference-best record of 5-1 on the season with wins over both Valdosta State and Armstrong State. In addition, Prasse shot a combined 65.2 percent from the field along the way, while committing just three turnovers in 71 total minutes of action.
In Friday's victory against Valdosta State, Prasse lit up the Lady Blazers for a career-high 29 points, including 17 in the second half, as the Sharks overcame a four-point deficit at intermission to earn an 85-79 win. The ensuing afternoon Prasse was at it again, filling up the stat sheet with 19 points, seven boards, eight assists and three steals to lift Nova Southeastern to a comfortable double-digit triumph versus Armstrong State.
Following her strong week, Prasse now leads the SSC in assists per game (6.3 apg) and ranks second in both scoring (14.8 ppg) and field goal percentage (52.4 percent).
