FINAL RESULTS
WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's golf team earned their first victory of the season following Tuesday's final round of the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, winning by 14 strokes to notch an event-record sixth win for the school.
The Sharks, who had Monday's low team score with an opening 293, bettered that by a stroke for the lowest score by any team during any round. They had entered the 2016 PKB tied with host Rollins for five wins, the most all-time, and now hold the record outright. Their 885 team total ties the record for the lowest 54-hole score in the 40-year history of the tournament.

NSU sophomore
Jamie Freedman (Miami Beach, Fla.) had the tournament's only round under 70, with a 3-under 69 Tuesday to tie teammate
Aldana Foigel (Fr., Plottier, Argentina) for second place among all individuals. Freedman went 74-77-69; Foigel was 73-75-72.
Next, in 15th, was sophomore
Michelle Ruiz (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) at 225, while
Sophie Madden (Fr., Essex, England) and
Mailen Domecq Chantry (So., Mar del Plata, Argentina) each carded a total of 227. In addition,
Katrina Wang (Jr., Shenzhen, China), playing as an individual, shot a 232.
The Sharks outdistanced No. 7 Montevallo and No. 3 Florida Tech, tied for second at 899; No. 10 West Florida in fourth (900); No. 2 Barry in fifth (902); No. 11 Lynn in sixth (907) and No. 1 Rollins, who placed seventh, shooting a 910.
"I knew going into this year we had a young team, but a very talented one," said head coach
Amanda Brown. "I knew we would continuously improve with everyone staying committed to the process, and that's what we have done. I'm really proud of this team for their performance on the course and also their commitment to excellence and each other. I'm excited for the future of this young team, and to see them continue to reach their full potential."
Barry's Tilsa Larsson took individual medal honors by only one stroke over Foigel, Freedman and Hally Leadbetter of Rollins. Rounding out the top five were Lynn's Jenny Ayala and Ann Parmeter at 221.
NSU will have a week off from tournament play before returning to action in nearby Miami Lakes on March 14 for the Barry U Women's Invitational.
