Since USA Baseball National Training Complex has hosted the National Finals, a first-time national champion had been crowned each year until Tampa (Fla.) ended the streak in 2013. Last year, Tampa became the second school to win two national championships at Cary, defeating Colorado Mesa.

2009: Lynn (Fla.)
2010: Southern Indiana
2011: West Florida
2012: West Chester (Pa.)
2013: Tampa (Fla.)
2014: Southern Indiana
2015: Tampa (Fla.)

This year's tournament will follow a true double-elimination format. If both finalists are unbeaten after bracket play, they will face each other in a two-out-of-three series on the final two days. If only one finalist is unbeaten, the one-loss finalist will have to beat the unbeaten team twice to claim the championship. Game times each day are 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
