No. 8 Baseball Ranked Third In Second NCAA South Region Poll

With one series to go, the Sharks are in prime position to get back to the NCAA South Region tournament.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 8 Nova Southeastern University baseball team (33-14, 16-5 SSC) has been voted the third seed in the second NCAA South Region poll, put together by the NCAA South Region voting committee.
 
After an 11-10 start, the Sharks have won 20 of their last 23 games, including six series sweeps over Eckerd, Saint Leo, Barry, Palm Beach Atlantic, Rollins, and Embry-Riddle. NSU will travel to Melbourne this weekend to take on the Florida Tech Panthers, as the Sharks wrap up their regular season schedule. FIT was in the regional championship game in 2015, falling to the eventual national champions, the University of Tampa Spartans.
 
Atop the NCAA South Region poll are the Tampa Spartans and West Florida Argonauts. West Alabama, West Georgia, Delta State, Florida Southern, Lynn and Alabama-Huntsville round out the rest of the poll. The Sharks have series wins over three teams in the NCAA South Region poll after taking two of three games from Tampa and Florida Southern and three of four games from Alabama-Huntsville.
 
The next NCAA South Region poll will be released next Wednesday, May 11th.
