Women’s Swimming Named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

This is the seventh time the women have received this honor

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University women's swimming was named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) after posting a 3.22 GPA in the spring semester.

"Our women's team works hard all season to not only excel in the pool but especially in the classroom," said head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron. "They have come together to ensure academic success all year long, and I am proud they have received the designation as a team for Scholar All-American."

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester. Top teams were recognized for both large teams (more than 22 women or 21 men) and small.

The women have a history of academic achievement as this is the seventh time the team has received CSCAA Scholar All-America honors. More recently, the Sharks' Emma Wahlstrom (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) was named to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ At-Large Team.

658 swimming and diving teams, representing 388 colleges and universities, were designated as Scholar All-America teams.  The recognition comes as a result of each team's classroom performance in the past semester. It is only the second time in the program's 30+ year history of the program that more than 600 teams were recognized.
