2016 WOMEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A season after returning to the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2007, second-year head coach
John Constable will captain a new Nova Southeastern University women's soccer squad, with the 2016 campaign beginning at home on Sept. 1.
Constable's rookie season at NSU ended with a 12-4-2 record, multiple national, regional and conference individual awards, and eight broken or tied team program records. Year two begins on Thursday, Sept. 1 at the NSU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. against Webber International.
"We are looking forward to the upcoming season," said Constable. "We have some tough regional games early which shall help prepare us for SSC play. On the whole, we are excited for the fall. We have a lot of new players arriving and I would presume we shall be one of the youngest teams in the conference and region. However, we certainly have aspirations of being a young team that hits the ground running straight away."
After the opener, the Sharks will be at home for each of the next three matches, before their first road trip, on Sept. 9 and 11 in Florence, Alabama. The 2016 Sunshine State Conference lidlifter is next, on Sept. 14 at home versus Florida Southern, followed three days later with their first SSC road matchup, at Tampa.
The season ends with two home contests, both in-conference, against Barry (Oct. 19) and Eckerd (Oct. 22). The 2016 SSC Championship is scheduled for Nov. 1-6, with the NCAA postseason beginning on Nov. 13.
"An incredible amount of work has went in to the recruitment side of things here over the past year," said Constable. "We are happy with the players we have arriving and are excited to see how they grow as a team throughout the year."
