FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – With the NCAA Tournament approaching in the coming weeks, Nova Southeastern controls its own postseason destiny after the NCAA announced the Sharks as the south region's top seed in its first official rankings.
Thanks to its 10-1-1 record, including 9-1-1 against Division II competition, head coach
John Constable's club would be in the driver's seat to host the opening two rounds of the regional set to begin on Friday, November 10. The Sharks currently boast the top win percentage (0.864) and in-region strength of schedule (0.581), along with a 3-0-1 mark against the region's top eight programs.
Looking up at the Sharks in the poll, in order, are: Mississippi College, North Alabama, Lee, West Florida, Florida Southern, Florida Tech and Barry. The top six teams will qualify for the NCAA Tournament field.
West Virginia Wesleyan (Atlantic), Central Missouri (Central), Adelphi (East), Grand Valley State (Midwest), Angelo State (South Central), Flagler (Southeast) and UC San Diego (West) make up the remaining No. 1 seeds in the seven additional regions.
