FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern men's and women's swimming teams enter the first College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top-25 poll in the Top-10 as announced on Monday afternoon. The poll aims to measure the top teams in head-to-head competition.
The women remain at No. 3 from the preseason poll with 115 points while the men sit tied for seventh with Lindenwood University at 143 points following a pair of victories over Rollins and Indian River State College.
The 2017 National Champions, Queens (N.C.), claim the top-spot on the men's side with 200 points. Drury sits in second with 192, followed by Indianpolis (184), California Baptist (175), Wingate (169) and Grand Valley State (147). Queens (N.C.) also claims the top-spot in the women's poll, jumping Drury from the preseason poll with 125 points, leading the Panthers (120) by five.
Joining the Sharks from the Sunshine State Conference in the preseason poll are Florida Southern, Florida Tech, Saint Leo, and Tampa. On the men's side, all four teams crack the Top-20 with the Moccasins ahead at No. 11. Florida Tech sits at No. 16, followed by Saint Leo and Tampa at No. 17 and 18, respectively.
On the women's side, Tampa and Saint Leo are the only other schools that represent the SSC in the Top-25. The Spartans are ranked No. 16 while the Lions enter the Top-25 for the first time this season at No. 23.
The women travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to face Lynn on Friday, Nov. 17 at 3:00 p.m. while the men will wait until Saturday, Dec. 2 to face Tampa at the NSU Aquatic Center at 10:00 a.m.
