NSU Swimming Sends 17 to NCAA Championships

A total of eight men and nine women were selected to compete.

INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday, the NCAA Championships Committee announced the list of student-athletes that have qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving National Championships. A total of 17 Nova Southeastern University swimmers will be moving on to compete this year's championship that will be held March 8-11 at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.

Now that the Nova Southeastern University men's and women's swim teams have captured the Sunshine State Conference titles, it is now time to turn their attention to the national championship as the 17 selected to represent NSU set their sights on more gold. On the men's side, the No. 3 men's team will be sending eight total, while the No. 5 women's swim team will be sending a total of nine. This will be the second-most in the young program's history ever sent to a national championship for NSU. In 2012, the Sharks had 19 represented at the national meet.

Out of the 55 SSC swimmers selected to compete at the national meet, NSU leads the league with their 17 qualifying swimmers. In order to qualify, student-athletes must meet either the NCAA automatic qualifying "A" or provisional "B" qualifying standards.
