FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Nova Southeastern University's
Lexie Storrer was named Sunshine State Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Mar. 19, 2017. This is the first pitcher's award the Sharks have been issued in 2017.
Storrer recorded a 4-0 week with wins over Maryville, Southern Connecticut State, Bloomsburg and Bemidji State in NSU's eight-game week. For the four games pitched, she boasts a .75 ERA after allowing just three runs in 28.0 innings. The freshman also dished out 30 strikeouts, including a career-high 11 strikeouts against Bemidji State, the highest in a single game by an NSU player since 2013.
Over eight games, she had a batting average of .360 after tallying nine hits in 25 at bats with five runs scored and six RBI. The Olathe, Kan. native hit three doubles and one triple with a slugging percentage of .560 and an on-base percentage of .419.
After an eight-game stretch against non-conference members, the Storrer and the rest of the Sharks will return to Sunshine State Conference play this weekend as it hosts Eckerd College in a three-game series beginning on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
