FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – For the fifth straight season, the Nova Southeastern University women's basketball team has been rewarded with a berth in the NCAA Tournament, as this year's seventh seed in the South Regionals, to be held in Saint Petersburg, Fla.
The Sharks (17-11) are one of four Sunshine State Conference schools to earn bids in the eight-team bracket, and will face off against second-seeded West Florida (25-6) this upcoming Friday, March 10. This is the first time the two teams have met since the 2006-07 season. Eckerd, the 2016-17 Sunshine State Conference Champions, is the top seed and host school.
Here is a schedule of the first-round games:
12:00pm - Benedict vs. Valdosta State
2:30pm - Nova Southeastern vs. West Florida
5:00pm - Lee vs. Eckerd
7:30pm - Florida Southern vs. Rollins
