FORT LAUDERDALE – Nova Southeastern University women's tennis player Luicelena Perez was named the Sunshine State Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 6, 2017 as announced by the conference office on Monday.
 
Following a 5-4 win over No. 38 Rollins, Perez picks up her second SSC Athlete of the Week award this season. Playing at No. 1 doubles, Perez teamed up with NSU's Isabella Lowrey for an 8-6 win over Fabiana Vitanza and Carlye Goldman for her sixth straight win at the top doubles flight. Then at No. 1 singles play, the Valencia, Venezuela native stayed undefeated as she won 6-1, 6-2 over Vitanza to help the 15^th-ranked Sharks improve to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in SSC play.
 
After a loss to NCAA Division I Toledo on Monday, the Sharks will return to the NSU Tennis Complex on Saturday, March 11 hosting No. 44 Tarleton State at 10:00 a.m.
