FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Head coach
LeAnn Freeland-Curry and the Nova Southeastern women's basketball team are pleased to announce the signing of junior-transfer Bree Matthews for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
As a sophomore at Southeastern Illinois College during the 2016-17 season, Matthews was named to both the All-Region 24 First Team and All-GRAC (Great Rivers Athletic Conference) First Team. On average, the 5-5 guard originally from Melbourne, Australia put up 12.0 points per game and 3.6 rebounds. She also registered 2.3 steals and 6.0 assists a game, both team-highs.
"Bree was a combo guard at SIC and helped lead them to a 26-6 overall record and an appearance in the district championship game," explained Freeland-Curry. She is an aggressive, relentless guard who has an impressive assist-turnover ratio of 2.6. Her experience and high energy will bring a different level of competitiveness to our team on a daily basis. Our coaching staff and players are excited to announce Bree Matthews is a Shark."
