Sharks Announce the Signing of Leaks for 2017-18

NSU signs local powerhouse from South Broward HS.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's basketball team and head coach LeAnn Freeland-Curry are proud to announce the signing of Natalia Leaks for the 2017-18 season.

As a senior at South Broward HS, the 5-8 guard averaged 15 points, six rebounds and four steals a game. She was named to the 2017 All-Broward County Second Team from the Sun Sentinel and All-Tournament team at Big 8 Basketball Tournament, as well as the Junior Orange Bowl.

"Nat was the starting point guard at South Broward HS and helped lead them to a 29-4 overall record, a Big 8 championship, and a runner-up finish at the state tournament," described Freeland-Curry. "On a team loaded with talent, she was the most consistent player on the team because of her work ethic and attitude. Nat is a transition point guard who gets everyone involved in the action and can finish well at the rim. Defensively, she can put a lot of pressure on the ball and makes plays off the ball. Our coaching staff and players are excited to announce Natalie Leaks is a Shark."
