SINGLES RANKINGS DOUBLES RANKINGS
SKILLMAN, N.J. – Nova Southeastern University women's tennis senior
Luicelena Perez and freshman
Isabella Lowrey continue to rise in the NCAA Division II national tennis rankings as the doubles pair was ranked No. 7 as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday afternoon.
"It's great for LP (Perez) and Bella (Lowrey) to receive a Top-10 ranking at the end of the season," head coach
Doug Neagle said. "They worked hard all season and competed against tough competition this season as our No. 1 doubles pair. They had great chemistry together and played well no matter who they faced. I'm excited to see what Bella brings her sophomore year."
Despite not playing since the Sunshine State Conference Quarterfinals on Apr. 20, the Perez and Lowrey duo jumped into the seventh spot in the national rankings from the tenth position. The pair ended the 2017 season with a six-match win streak bringing their final record to 13-4 with a 7-2 record in the SSC.
In singles, Perez maintains her No. 3 spot she was tabbed with from the previous national poll on Apr. 26. Perez was undefeated in singles, boasting a 17-0 record and an 8-0 record against SSC opponents. She was also a perfect 6-0 against nationally-ranked opponents.
The Sharks will return to the courts in the fall for the 2017-18 season set to begin in September.
