SKILLSMAN, N.J. – Nova Southeastern University women's tennis players Luicelena Perez and Isabella Lowrey continue to add to their 2016-17 accomplishments, as they received All-American status by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Thursday. Perez was named first-team All-American in singles and doubles, while Lowrey was tabbed first-team All-American in doubles.
 
"It was a great year for LP (Perez) and Bella (Lowrey)," said head coach Doug Neagle. "They accomplished a lot as a doubles pair, and Perez was unstoppable in singles. I'm proud of how well these girls played together at the No. 1 position. They displayed great team chemistry, and both had the same amount of intensity and drive to win."
 
Perez adds the icing on the cake to her incredible season with the All-American recognition in singles and doubles. The Valencia, Venezuela native was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, South Region Player of the Year and ended the season as the No. 3 player in the singles national poll.
 
The senior proved to be one of the toughest players in the country, finishing the season with a 17-0 mark in singles that included an unblemished 8-0 record against SSC competition. Perez also finished with a 6-0 record against national-ranked opponents, two of those wins versus Top-10 opponents.
 
As a doubles pair, Perez and Lowrey receive the All-American nod a week after the duo jumped to the No. 7 position in the final national ranking. Together, Perez and Lowrey finished the season on a six-match win streak, bringing their final record to 13-4 and 7-2 in the SSC.
