FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern officially welcomed new pieces to both the men's and women's basketball staffs on Monday. Former standouts on the court in their own right,
T'Keyah Williams and
Devin Hoehn join the Shark Family as Directors of Player Development for their respective programs.
Making the return back home, Williams replaces former women's assistant Brooklyn Kohlheim on the NSU bench after four seasons as a player at Tennessee Tech. As a senior, she posted averages of 6.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 26 starts for the Golden Eagles. The former Dillard High School product recorded six double-figure scoring efforts and two double-doubles in the same season before finishing her career with 665 points and 554 boards.
"Our program is excited that T'Keyah has joined our staff," said women's basketball head coach LeAnn Freeland. "She won two state titles as a standout player at Dillard High School and had success playing Division I basketball at Tennessee Tech. She is a great person, brings positivity, and connects well with our players. Since she has local ties, we are eager to build on our local recruiting base."
Hoehn, meanwhile, brings with him plenty of continuity alongside new men's basketball head coach
Jim Crutchfield, having started for him from 2014-17 at West Liberty. During his career, Hoehn was named a three-time, All-Mountain East selection, earning first-team honors as a senior. In 2016-17, he helped guide the Hilltoppers to 28 wins by averaging 16.4 points per game. while leading WLU with 74 3-point field goals. Hoehn finished his playing days as the 12th leading scorer in school history at 1,832 points, and is No. 2 all-time with 314 3-point field goals. A year ago, he led the team with 24 double-figure scoring games and collected 11 games with 20 or more points.
"
Devin Hoehn brings a lot of good things to our program, but none of any more value than a great personality," said Crutchfield. "He has been with me the last five years as a player, and knows not just the X's and O's of the system that is going into place, but also the expectations that this program will have on our players. I know our players will enjoy working with Devin and I am certainly happy to have him on board."
