NSU Adds Whitney-Babcock to Athletic Training Staff

Kelly Whitney-Babcock worked past two years as Graduate Assistant at Indiana University

The Nova Southeastern Athletics Department has officially hired Kelly Whitney-Babcock to its Athletic Training Staff, announced Friday morning.

"I'm proud to welcome Kelly Whitney-Babcock to the Sharks family," said Zevon Stubblefield, NSU's Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. "Kelly brings a multitude of great experience and skills to the position. Our NSU student-athletes are fortunate to have Kelly as their athletic trainer."

Whitney-Babcock will immediately begin work with the women's soccer team, as well as men's and women's swimming.

Prior to joining the Nova Southeastern family, Whitney-Babcock was a member of the Methodist Sports Medicine staff, where she provided coverage for the Indiana High School Athletic Association boys and girls state track and field championships. As recently as this past May, she also worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Indiana University, covering the women's tennis program along with the five-time National Champion cheerleading team and women's soccer club. In addition, Whitney-Babcock spent two years with the Justin Boots Sportsmedicine Team following her undergraduate experience at Oregon State University.

"I'm very happy to be joining the Shark family," said Whitney-Babcock. "I've spent a couple of years working as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Indiana University and several years volunteering with the Justin Sportsmedicine Team with professional rodeo. I'm excited to experience new adventures at NSU."

Outside of the sports realm, Whitney-Babcock has gained over six years of experience as a massage therapist. She is a licensed and certified athletic trainer (ATC, LAT), and has certifications that include CPR and AED Professional Rescuer.
