NORMAN, Okla. – Fresh off its strong showing at the season-opening Matlock Collegiate Classic, the Nova Southeastern men's golf team has continued its ascension up the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll. After closing the fall as the nation's No. 4 program, the Sharks moved up to third on Friday, matching their position in the most recent Golfstat rankings.
Led by a final-round 66 from
Juan Jose Guerra, Nova Southeastern captured fourth earlier this week in Lakeland, Fla. among a talented field that featured each of the nation's Top-5 schools. Guerra earned himself a share of fourth individually, while both
Finlay Mason and
Tomas Millet tied for 13
th. The Sharks have now finished within the Top-5 in each of their five tournaments throughout 2017-18.
Alongside Nova Southeastern, Florida Southern, Lynn, Florida Tech, Barry, Saint Leo and Rollins also cracked the Top-25, giving the Sunshine State Conference an impressive seven teams in this week's poll. West Florida collected 13 of a possible 19 first-place votes to remain at No. 1.
