AS A JUNIOR (2012-13)
At the SSC championships, competed in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly...In the 100-yard butterfly, he came in ninth with an NCAA "B" qualifying time of 50.22...In the 100-yard freestyle, he came in 16th with a time of 47.01. 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2011-12)
In the 50- yard freestyle placed fourth with a time of 23.00 against Saint Leo (10/15/2011) ...Was part of the 400 –yard medley relay that finished in second-place with a time of (3:38.33). At the SCC Championships (2/15-18/2012) with all personal best times in the 50 and 100 – free posting times of 21.62 and 47.40…he continued his success in best times in swimming the 100-fly with a time of 50.66.  

AS A FRESHMAN
At the All-Florida Invitational featuring schools spanning several divisions and levels of intercollegiate-swimming Shelley’s 400-yard free relay team finished in ninth-place… Against Florida Atlantic Shelley (0:22.77) finished fourth in the freestle sprint (1029/10)…During the final event of the meet against Indian River Shelley and his teammates finished third at 1:29.40 in the 200-yard freestyle relay (11/13/10)…At the 2011 SSC Championship Shelley finished 15th at 49.91 in the 100-yard free (2/17/11).

HIGH SCHOOL
Swam at Western Albemarle High School for four years… His senior season he was named All-State Swimmer, All-Central Virginia Swimmer, named Most Valuable Player and served as team captain… Won the Jefferson District Champion in the 50y freestyle and finished fifth at state… Four year honor roll student and Jefferson District All-Academic swimming team…

CLUB EXPERIENCE
Swam for Virginia Gators club team and served as the 2009 team captain.

PERSONAL
A psychology major… His favorite food is steak and his favorite movie is Major League… Lists David Wright as his favorite athlete and the New York Giants as his favorite sports team… Some of his hobbies include snowboarding, surfing and play basketball… Son of Jim and Jan Shelley... Has a sister Caitlin who swims at the University of Maine.
