Biography

AS A SENIOR (2015-2016)
Fall 2015:
Competed in two events, with a 1-under par second round at the National Preview his lowest round…Went 74-74-74 at the Otter Invitational…Also took part in the 2015 Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic and the second annual Latin America Amateur Championship.

Spring 2016: Tied for ninth for his best finish at the Southeastern Collegiate…Had round of 72-74-70, the latter matching his best of the year…Also shot a 70 to wrap the Buccaneer Invite, after 73-71 to start, to end in 17th…Was 19th at the SSC Championship.

AS A JUNIOR (2014-15)
Fall 2014: In three fall tournaments, had three top-five finishes…Tied for second at the Guy Harvey Invitational, getting progressively better in each round for a 6-under total of 210 (71-70-69)…Was fifth at the Otter Invitational, helping the Sharks to a team win with a 221, including a 1-under-par 71 opening round…Had his best round of the fall at the McDonough Cup, a 4-under 68 in the middle of three rounds…Totalled a 5-under 211 at that tournament (71-68-72)…Also took part in the January's inaugural Latin America Amateur Championship, where he placed fifth in a field of 109.

Spring 2015: Earned multiple postseason awards after a season in which he finished as the No. 1-ranked golfer in all of Division II and earned the highest individual honor in the NCAA as the Jack Nicklaus Award winner…Earned First Team PING All-American honors, by the GCAA, was NCAA All-South Region, and was named Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Year as well as First Team All-SSC…Finished off his perfect top-five streak by placing fourth or better in all five regular season spring events (three third-place finishes and two in fourth place), then slotted third at the SSC Championships (67-74-71) and second at the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional (71-70-70), the latter in a field of 107…His birdie putt on the 54nd hole of match play earned the clinching point, giving the Sharks a 3-2 win and the 2015 NCAA National Championship…Helped the team advance to the final day by earning individual wins in both the quarterfinals (with a 5-under 66) and the semifinals (a 3-under 68).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013-14):
Fall 2013: Had a fantastic first season with the Sharks with nine top-20 finishes in 11 events, including two of three in the fall...Debuted with a 14th-place finish, the team's highest, in the Golfweek DII Fall Invitational (82-77-72—231)...Tied for 18th and was 14 strokes better at the next week's Guy Harvey Invitational (72-74-71—217)...Wrapped up the fall finishing 23rd at the McDonough Cup (70-77-71—218).

Spring 2014: Finished the year ranked No. 3 in all of DII, while being named PING DII Second-Team All-American, PING All-South Region, and SSC All-Conference Second Team...Was 12th or better in each of the first four spring events, beginning with a tie for third at the Matlock Collegiate Classic (74-71-68—213)... The 4-under 68 in the final round marked his best 18 holes of the season...Was 12th in the team's win at the Armstrong Pirates Invitational (72-73-72—217)...Placed fourth, eighth and fourth, respectively at the Las Vegas Desert Classic (72-73—145), Bobcat Invitational (75-71—146) and Buccaneer Invitational (69-70-71—210)...At the Buccaneer, his 210 was the lowest three-round score of the year, and each round was par or better...Was third at each NCAA competition, the South/Southeast Regional (69-70-73—212) and during stroke play at the National Championships (71-71-73—215)...Each of his match play round were 3-over or better, including a 1-over 73 in the final round the halve his matchup.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL
Played two years at Midwestern State for Jeff Ray…Named to the All-Freshman Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America, and was Third-Team All-American by PING…Ranked 20th as an individual with a 72.8 scoring average…Won two tournaments as a freshman: The Midwestern State Invitational and the Lone Star Conference Championship.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended the G.I. School…Ranked No. 1 in Colombia as was a member of the National Team and coach Jose Manuel Garrido…Received math honors.
