Abbey Gittings earns NSUSharks.com Athlete of the Week for her second place finish in the Georgetown Hoya Invitational against the nation’s best. She tied for second place with a total score of 226 (75-78-73). Like her team, she finished three strokes off the leader, Old Dominion’s Elizabeth Haycock.

Gettings led all participants after the first round as she shot a 75. She dropped three strokes in the second round, bringing her overall score to 153, while the field’s top competitors caught up to her. She finished day one tied for third place overall before making her move to second in the final round.
